The accomplishments of Maureen FitzSimons when she was a child performer in America (or the name we use to refer to Maureen O'Hara today) would be a sure signification for her to fall into"the "child prodigy" category. This was a natural trait to a person born in Ireland and with talented parents and family. Maureen arrived in this nurturing sanctuary on August 17th, 1920. Her family was her parents and family members. Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was an accomplished contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin and was also the owner of the famous Irish football team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen excelled at sports and was a lover of rough play. This interest was combined with an unnatural talent for performing. As a result, she received almost all of the Feis Awards for dramatic and acting in her country of birth. When she turned 14, the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dreams of classical and opera.
